Christmas 2023 has passed, and Mariah Carey’s yearly musical dominance will begin to wind down. Plies does not appear to be disturbed that he will not hear “All I Want for Christmas Is You” as often.
Plies resorted to social media to express his thoughts on Mariah Carey’s holiday song. According to the Florida-born rapper, his mother overplayed “All I Want for Christmas Is You” this winter.
“I am at my momma’s house. “Do you hear this?” Plies stated in a video shared on his Instagram page. “I’m tired of hearing this m############ song, ma.” Alright?”
He also stated, “I love Mariah just as much as everyone else does.” But there’s no way you’re going to convince me that this is Mariah Carey’s only Christmas song.
“All I Want for Christmas Is You” appears on Mariah Carey’s 1994 album Merry Christmas. That project also includes holiday-themed songs including “Silent Night,” “O Holy Night,” and “Joy To The World.”
“All I Want for Christmas Is You” smashed the all-time global Spotify record for single-day streams once more, as it has done every year. On December 24, this year, the song received 23.7 million streaming, exceeding the 21.3 million streams it received on Christmas Eve in 2022.
This year, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” re-entered the Billboard Hot 100 at number one. Mariah Carey’s famous carol has topped the singles chart for 13 weeks in a row, spanning five years.
